Multi-hyphenate creative Vashtie [Kola], known affectionately as Downtown’s Sweetheart is officially off the market. She announced her engagement today (December 31, 2019) to Copenhagen-born Emil Boye, who’s a senior designer at NR2154, a design firm based in New York.

The official date of the engagement was December 4, 2019. In an Instagram, image announcing the happy news, Vashtie flashed a diamond engagement ring designed by Anna Sheffield.

On the post announcing the news, Vashtie referenced a now legendary “Hot Wings” episode featuring Paul Rudd with a caption reading, “Look at us. Who would have thought…Not me.” 12.4.19 💍 (Who would have guessed that when we met in 2011; we would become good friends for 6 years, fall in love, become a couple and now be engaged).”

In a blog post on vashtie.com following the announcement, she explained why she went from being ambivalent about marriage to making a commitment to a lifetime partnership.

Recently the couple posted images while in attendance at Diddy’s star-studded 50th birthday party in Beverly Hills, California, though they’ve been showing up on each other’s Instagram feeds at various events since 2015.
