Los Angeles-based rapper Doja Cat had an extended chat with her fans on Instagram last night (February 22, 2020) where she again praised Nicki Minaj‘s talent and her importance to the rap game.

Doja whose real name is Amalaratna Dlamini , explained, “You have Nicki who is so substantial, she has implanted herself so deeply into all of us so deeply, into music and into rap and into hip hop in such a way that she, in a very f*cked up and sad way, people have underappreciated her and I don’t think that’s right. I don’t think that that’s natural.”

“I just think she belongs in the spotlight,” she said and added, “She should be heard and that is the f*cking bottom line. I don’t want to hear anybody else.”

The 24-year-old Doja then segued into the importance of rappers having talent. “Quality is important. Style and entertainment and when someone is stylish and entertaining and cool, that’s important, but when someone is stylish and entertaining and talented and cares about hip…”

She finished with the importance of rappers writing their own rhymes. “F*ck that sh*t. F*ck that goddamn ghost writing sh*t. F*ck that. I want to have fun. I want to play the game,” she finished.

For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runwa For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runway show and present their collection in a styled lookbook.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."
