Much-admired designer Phoebe Philo is rumored to be in the planning stages of launching her own label. According to WWD, the English designer has been interviewing designers and assembling a team though the exact nature and timing of the label is not known.
According to one industry source, Philo was working on her own brand when she left Chloé in 2006 , but put the project on hold when she joined Celine in 2008. According to the source, “She has always wanted to do her own thing, but it costs so much money.”
The Central Saint Martins graduate broke fashion lovers’ hearts worldwide when she stepped down from her 10-year role as creative director of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton‘s Celine at the end of 2017. Her final effort with the brand was the pre-fall 2018 collection.
