New York-based designer Willy Chavarria eschewed a runway presentation for fall 2020 and instead created an eerie visual featuring an almost entirely black collection as a statement on end times.
Fueled by Chavarria’s dramatic yet still low key interpretation of his Chicano upbringing, offerings include extra roomy denim jackets and jeans, slightly over-sized suits and formal dresses that would look at home in a Catholic clergy’s closet, a sensibility heightened with rosary beads.
Made in partnership with innovative, Shanghai textile company Recytex, the fall 2020 collection is made of 100-percent recycled materials.
