G.O.O.D. Music signee Teyana Taylor-Shumpert got busy today (May 22, 2020) with a visual for “Bare Wit Me,” and as a bonus for June graduates a video titled “Made It,” featuring members of the class of 2020.
Stylistically filmed to resemble a crime caper film, “Bare Wit Me” was trending last week on Twitter for a Michael Jackson-inspired dance break. In the visual, Taylor plays the role of Greyla Greathouse, a killer who is shown smothering one man and stabbing another played by her real life partner in crime, Iman Shumpert.
In the timely “Made It” video, Taylor celebrates 2020 graduates whose graduation ceremonies were cancelled by COVID-19. The lack of celebratory ceremony is something Taylor can personally relate to as she was home schooled and according to press, received her diploma while in a Starbucks.
Addressing the graduates, Taylor wrote on Instagram, “First and foremost, Thank you to ALL the graduates that contributed to the video! I truly appreciate you & happy to celebrate YOU!!! Unfortunately, this pandemic has stopped us from physically gathering and celebrating all the hard work you’ve put in through the years But this pandemic can’t stop your spirit, it can’t dim your light, and it can’t take your degree away from you!! So when you make it out of this dark time, shine bright and light up the world! Congratulations to the class of 2020, YOU MADE IT!! PEACE & LOVE!”
Taylor is set to release her album titled THE ALBUM sometime in June. Meanwhile pregnancy rumors continue to swirl following a Instagram Live session with Iman “Junie” Shumpert who blurted out, “Mommy, let me kiss that baby.” Taylor has yet to address the chatter.
