Miami-born City Girls have dropped the first of five episodes of “The Series,” a documentary shining on lens on behind-the-scenes events following the incarceration of JT (real name Jatavia Johnson) who begin serving her sentence in a Jacksonville prison in July 2018.
In the first episode, Yung Miami (real name Caresha Brownlee) is shown holding down the group as a solo artist following JT’s imprisonment.
Later in the episode, she reveals to her Quality Control Music record label managers, Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “Pee” Thomas, that she’s five months pregnant. Privately, the two managers complain about Yung waiting too long to tell them about the pregnancy. In a meeting, they tell her they should have been told sooner.
Yung’s baby with her producer boyfriend, Southside (real name Joshua Luellen), was born in October 2019. The baby girl whose name is Summer is Yung’s second child and Southside’s sixth.
This is the City Girls’ second documentary. In 2018, they released “Point Black Period,” which followed them in the lead up to JT’s imprisonment.
