Cute duo Rihanna and A$AP Rocky linked up for an 18-question interview rooted in the Harlem rapper’s role as a Fenty Skin ambassador. Fenty skin boss Robyn Rihanna Fenty launched the new product line last month, an effort that was announced with a visual featuring an array of female models, along with Rocky and Lil Nas X (real name Montero Hill).
Produced by GQ, Rihanna kicks off the exchange by asking Rocky (real name Rakim Meyers) what his favorite curse word is.
When asked about a food he would never eat “under any circumstances,” Rocky, who wore a multi-strand pearl necklace with a tye-die Mickey Mouse t-shirt and lavender lace shorts, didn’t hesitate when he responded with chitlins, a choice Rihanna strongly agreed with.
As for what Rocky thinks is the hardest part about working with Rihanna, he stated, “Not goofing off and laughing the whole time. This shit is comedy. That’s the hardest part.”
On the topic of skincare, Rocky admitted he didn’t know skincare was a thing in part because there haven’t even been well known male role models.
Switching back to fashion, a lane both performers are famous for, Rocky spoke about his first red carpet appearance wearing an all black look for the 2012 BET Awards.
When asked about his favorite Rihanna outfit, Rocky chose the mint-colored custom Fenty party dress she wore on the British Fashion Awards red carpet in 2019.
Both Rocky and Rihanna said they prefer hightop kicks over low. When asked about what’s he’s watching as of late, Rocky said he’s been getting into vintage cartoons, including The Jetsons, Then Banana Splits and Betty Boop
Responding to a question about the state of the beauty industry trends, Rocky said he’d like to see the industry evolve and become more diverse and versatile. “Everything is very old fashion and stuck to the old blueprint,” he explained.
