Sustainability-themed label Together California has linked with British nature program BBC Earth on a unisex capsule collection celebrating the wonders of nature. Made in California of recycled water bottles the apparel collection comprises a windbreaker, joggers, pleated skirt and shorts.
Offerings are offered featuring a photograph of either a flamboyance of pink flamingos or a constellation of Sea Stars, both of which were shot by members of the BBC team.
According to press on the Sea Star image, the Sea Stars were shot below sea ice in the Ross Sea. The description ads, “In the cold, creatures here grow very slowly, but they can live long and become large in stature. The seafloor is carpeted with starfish and sea spiders the size of dinner plates. This rarely seen ecosystem is perhaps one of the most pristine left on earth.”
In press about the collection Together California creative director Lily Cherazi-Barett stated, “The purpose of this partnership is to shed light on the beauty, magic and wonders of nature. Aesthetically, it is perfectly aligned as our prints have always been rooted in photography and nature. They transport you to an exotic paradise. Beyond the fashion products.
“BBC Earth has set the gold standard for nature history programming, sparking environmental appreciation and awe. It’s our great joy that we can work in unison with BBC Earth to bring this vision to life.”
Campaign images feature models Rose Machado and Jean Carter of r&b group Your Grandparents as photographed by Jesse Lirola.
Priced from $65 for shorts up to $125 for the pleated skirt, Together California and BBC Earth’s collaborative collection is available now on togethercalifornia.
