Crocs Confirms Justin Bieber Collaboration, Launching October 13th

Colorado-based Crocs today (October 7, 2020) confirmed an upcoming collaboration with pop superstar Justin Bieber, an effort that was initially teased on the pop superstar’s Instagram feed with a yellow Classic Clog shown floating in a pool.

The shoe will be detailed with eight custom Jibbitz charms “designed to match his good vibes and laid-back style.” One of the Jibbitz, which spells out Drew, is a reference to his middle name as well as his merch line and online store. The golden yellow color of the shoe also reflects a colorway and logo theme for Drew.

“As an artist, it’s important that my creations stay true to myself and my style. I wear Crocs all the time, so designing my own pair came naturally,” said Justin Bieber in a press release. “With these Crocs, I just focused on making something cool that I want to wear.”

Bieber is a good candidate for a collaboration because he’s an authentic fan of the brand and has been spotted wearing Crocs multiple instances while out and about.

The effort is part of Crocs’ ongoing “Come As You Are” campaign, which has featured collaborations with an array of musical creatives, including the recent release of a pair of glow-in-the-dark clogs made with Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Bad Bunny.

This limited-edition collaboration will drop globally on October 13th for $59.99 online on crocs.com and with select retail partners. Crocs and Justin Bieber’s Classic Clog will also be sold at select Crocs retail stores in China and South Korea, as well as on thehouseofdrew.com.

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.

Make-up by Raisa Flowers, nails by Dawn Sterling, and photography by Luis Alberto Rodriguez.
