New York-based Pyer Moss has debuted its first stand-alone shoe design, a sport infused shoe called The Sculpt featuring a black suede and mesh upper and a exaggerated bulbous outsole.
According to press on the effort, “The Sculpt brings a futuristic approach in thought and gesture through its bottom proportions. The upper made of suede, mesh and Pyer Moss’ signature contrast white topstitch, connects the design to our current reality of extreme contrasts made beautiful.”
On Instagram, Pyer Moss founder and designer Kerby Jean-Raymond added, “We started working on this shoe in 2017. We were told it couldn’t be done for so many reasons but we persisted and here they are. The Sculpt — Pyer Moss’ first shoe.”
Pyer Moss has collaborated with Reebok on multiple sneaker silhouettes, a collaborative partnership that began in 2018. Last week, Reebok announced Jean-Raymond as Reebok’s vice president, creative direction.
Priced at $595 and available in men’s sizes 5-13, the shoe will launch on October 3, 2020 on pyermoss.com.
