First announced in September 2020, Gucci and The North Face have revealed an official campaign for an extensive collaborative collection designed by Alessandro Michelle, the Italian luxury label’s creative director.
While the collection includes its fair share of items like t-shirts and hats that begin and end with graphics of both brands’ logos, more so Michelle has done an expert job of joining the strengths of both labels to create a compelling collection of offerings happily marrying The North Face’s classic performance outerwear pieces with Gucci’s flowery, hippy aesthetic.
The capsule is highlighted by puffer jackets, skirts and vests detailed with an array of flower and graphic prints. It also features apparel, accessories, luggage, hiking boots plus tents and sleeping bags.
Shot by Daniel Shea, the campaign is staged in a picturesque, grassy valley surrounded by The Alps. In a contrast to North Face campaigns featuring stern mountain climbers, the gauzy photoshoot features laid back looking models happily communing with nature.
The collection will launch at a Gucci Pin pop-up store in Beijing on December 29, 2020. It will roll out to additional stores in January 2021. A limited selection of items will also be sold on gucci.com.
