Harlem-born music creative Azealia Banks is once again trending on social media though this time it’s not for a scathing take down of whatever pop pop culture figure is irritating her that day. This time the uproar is over a series of Instagram videos in which the 29-year-old creative documents herself digging up and boiling her dead cat, Lucifer, who died three months ago.

In the caption showing Banks digging up the cat who was buried inside a white plastic bag, Banks explained, “A lot of you guys don’t know, Lucifer the cat died three months ago, and we had to put him in the ground, and we’re digging him up for the very first time. She’s coming back to life c*nt!”

In an equally disturbing, second video Banks stirs a boiling pot of black sludge which appears to be the cat. Banks wrote in the caption, “Lucifer 2009-2020. My dear kitty. Thank you for everything. A legend. An icon. Forever a serval serve.”

Banks was inspired to exhume and boil the feline because she’s moving from her home in Los Angeles to Miami and didn’t wanted to leave her behind.

As part of her tribute to the cat, Banks set up a shrine that include the cat’s skull, peacock feathers, a bottle of Champagne, a $100 bill and a bottle of Chanel No. 5.

After deleting the videos, Banks commented on Instagram stories, “The cat went out with a f*c king bang! Taking my b *tch to Miami.”

According to the NY Post, Bank’s 2,348-square-foot Los Angeles home was sold in a non-judicial foreclosure for $845,000 to a buyer in November. Banks purchased the home in March 2016 for $850,000, but listed it for sale within a month.

Banks has described herself as a brujeria or witch and has been a champion for Africa-based spiritual practices. In late December 2016, she filmed herself cleaning out her Harlem closet, which was filled with the blood and feathers from sacrificed chickens.
