The song was first teased by SZA (real name Solána Rowe) in October 2020 on her Instagram account, giving a nod to producer Darkchild (real name Rodney Jerkins) with a tag.
The song went viral on TikTok on December 30, 2020 when user @bgottfanns uploaded a choreographed dance routine using the snippet. SZA performed the same routine when she uploaded the song on TikTok.
Thus far, SZA has released two singles from her album: “Hit Different” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and “Good Days.” She dropped a video for “Hit Different” as well as a video of an acoustic performance of both singles.
SZA’s “Good Days” is riding high on streaming platforms, currently sitting in the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s U.S. top 50 chart.
