PVH Corp.-owned Calvin Klein and New York-based designer Heron Preston have announced plans for a collaborative capsule. Titled Heron Preston for Calvin Klein, the unisex and sustainably-sourced collection will include sweatshirts, t-shirts, underwear and denim, among other items.
Commenting on the capsule, Calvin Klein global chief merchant and head of product strategy Jacob Jordan stated, “We have this idea of working with different visionary and creative people to help tell a Calvin Klein story through the lens of their perspective on, or experience with, the brand.
“I see this project as the first step. It’s a reawakening for the brand, moving us closer in our connection to culture and creativity. It is about forming interconnected partnerships who can help us tell our story in a way that maybe we couldn’t on our own.”
The news of the collaboration was celebrated with an image of Preston as shot by Renell Medrano on Calvin Klein’s famed over-sized billboard located on Houston Street in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.
Preston, whose label is part of New Guards Group, has some experiencing working on denim having collaborated with Levi’s on a well received capsule that launched in 2019.
Prior to the reveal of the effort with Heron Preston, it was revealed Calvin Klein had tapped designer Willy Chavarria as senior vice president of design for Calvin Klein North America and Global Essentials apparel, men’s.
Tim Coppens, who held a consulting role as a Calvin Klein men’s design director is no longer with the brand.
Priced from $138-$298 for sweatshirts and hoodies, $36-$88 for underwear an $185-$225 for denim, the Calvin Klein by Heron Preston capsule will launch on calvinklein.com on April 23, 2021.
