Stüssy has announced a rug collaboration with Artisan Project, a women’s weaving cooperative based in Ain Leuh, Morocco. The rugs are primarily made from archival t-shirts stored in Stüssy’s Irvine, California-base warehouse. The release marks the first of a series of ongoing projects between the two entities.
Limited to just 30 rugs, the designs reflect the Southern California-rooted surf and sand-rooted themes Stüssy is known for as combined with iconic vintage Moroccan carpet design themes.
While pricing isn’t yet available, Stüssy and Artisan Projects rugs will be available exclusively on Stüssy’s online stores globally at 10 AM local time on September 3, 2021.
