A First Look At Birkenstock And Manolo Blahnik’s Upcoming Collaboration

Birkenstock x Manolo Blahnik Arizona sandal

March 6, 2022. Leave a Comment

Manolo Blahnik and comfort shoe brand Birkenstock have previewed plans for a collab, a pairing that may seem unlikely pairing, but somehow just works. Working off of Birkenstock’s popular Boston and Arizona silhouettes, the shoes are detailed with crystal buckles. For the first drop, the Boston will be offered in black leather while the Arizona is available in fuchsia and peacock-blue velvet.

Designer Manolo Blahnik’s has a history as a fan of the brand. In spring 2020, he and and his niece, Kristina Blahnik, the brand CEO, starred in a Birkenstock’s campaign highlighting wearers of the brand in their own worn Birks.

Commenting on the iconic comfort shoe at the time, Blahnik said, “In my youth when I travelled often, Birkenstocks were my holiday shoe of choice. I vividly remember one particular trip to Sicily where I explored for hours and walked for miles wearing my Birkenstocks. They are intelligently designed and wonderfully comfortable, with a classical continuity.”

Priced at $680 for the Boston and $810 for the Arizona, Birkenstock and Manolo Blahnik’s debut collab will launch on birkenstock.com and at retailers like Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue on March 24, 2022, followed by a second launch in June.
