Macy’s has partnered with New York-based label 5:31 as lead by Jerome Lamaar as part of its ongoing Icons of Style series celebrating Black designers. Making a bold statement on colors, Lammar’s 12-piece unisex capsule is comprised of quilted jacket, a sequin shirt, t-shirt and cargo pants among other items.
Commenting on his creative expression for this capsule collection, Lamaar stated, “This collection was inspired by a balance of masculine and feminine vibes. There are no gender norms in my eyes. When the fashion dreamer discovers these clothes, I want them to feel magical, seen, loved and most importantly happy.”
Prior to working with Lamaar, Macy’s has partnered with GooGoo Atkins, Areeayl Goodwin, Matthew Harris, Ade Samuel and Stella and Blaise Bennett.
