Brooklyn rapper Leikeli47 has released her third studio album Shape Up, a 14-song project produced by Harold Lilly. Providing the album’s only feature on “Jay Walk,” fashion icon Alexander Jenkins (better known as Miss J Alexander), muses on runway walking. An additional highlights includes the soulful and sweet “Hold My Hand,” a song in which Leikeli47 dips effortlessly into her soul bag.
“Shape Up truly feels like my first album. It’s the craziest feeling,” Leikeli noted in a press release. “I feel like this is my first time out and no one knows me. I’m finally about to embark on a journey where I’m diving into my fans and they’re diving into me. It’s a fun process.”
Shape Up is the third album in a beauty-themed tribology that includes 2018’s Acrylic and 2017’s Wash & Set. Leikeli queued up the album in January with a single titled “Chitty Bang,” followed by “BITM,” which was accompanied by a visual interspersed with concert visuals as well as Vogue dancers performing at New York’s famed ballroom parties. Last month, she released the album’s third single, “LL Cool J,” a song accompanied by a striking black and white video featuring Aleali May.
Leikeli47’s Shape Up is now available on all streaming platforms.
