Newly-signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, Doechii tapped her Grammy Award-winning labelmate SZA for a remix of “Persuasive,” a single first released in March 2022. On the remix, Doechii dips into her r&b bag, flexing the singing and rapping range that’s helped catapult her to stardom. SZA’s uniquely soulful voice is a perfect complement, adding additional layers to the song’s endless summer vibes.
“I created “Persuasive” to uplift people and bring communities together, so having SZA jump on the song was a perfect fit because I’ve always connected with others over her music,” says Doechii, who was selected for XXL‘s 2022 Freshman Class. “Knowing that SZA is with TDE was what originally got me most excited about being on this label, so now that we have a song together it’s a full-circle moment. She really ATE! This collaboration is everything I always imagined it to be.”
Building her big platform bonafides, Doechii recently performed “Persuasive” and “Crazy” on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” as well as the BET Awards.
Doechii has announced she will drop her “she/her/black bitch” EP on August 5, 2022. “Persuasive” featuring SZA is now available on all streaming channels.
