July was dominated by news of Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter dropping Renaissance her seventh studio album and her first solo project in six years. Celebrating the Black American electronic dance music, the well-received project debuted at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart, maintaining her top-of-the-chart-debut streak for all of her solo projects.

In addition to dance, Beyoncé also celebrated women music creatives with a remix titled “Break My Soul: The Queens Remix,” featuring Madonna. With a theme in lock step with Snobette’s own efforts to shine more light on women, the song shouted out 29 female music creatives.

As massive an artist as Bey is, it comes as no surprise that the release included some controversy. Prior to its official launch, Harlem-born Kelis caused the hive to swarm when she let it be known she was unhappy Beyoncé had included a sample of her song “Milkshake” on Renaissance‘s “Energy” track without checking in with her.

As it turns out, it was only an interpolation, one that didn’t even include use of Kelis’ voice, but the damage was done in the eyes of the Beyhive who declared her persona non grata for needlessly disrupting their queen’s coming out party. Moving in silence like she always does, Beyoncé responded by removing the interpolation of the song two days after the album was launched.

Naturally, Beyoncé tops Snobette Sounds July list, along with GloRilla, Megan thee Stallion, Tink, Rico Nasty, Ambre, Karlae, Day Sulan, Savannah Ré, Melii, Leaf, Omeretta the Great, Gwen Bunn, Cherele, Doechii, Mahalia, Cat Burns, Imani Williams, Kaash Paige, Nija and Muni Long.

While playful in its themes, this collection isn't reminiscent of fruity or sweet scents; instead, its floral-themed packaging exudes sophistication and cosmopolitan vibes. Our top picks are 'She Said That', 'Whispers' and Love&War.

Announcing the news on X, Sasso wrote, "It is done. What happened to MeccaUSA? What happened to AlphaNumeric? What happened to PNB? What happened to 10.Deep? The particulars of the stories are different, but all had 'partnerships' with the same company, and the results ended up being the same.

"Today my ties to 10.Deep were severed once and for all. Big bank, takes little bank. But with what goal? I'm not sure of the answer to that question is. I think of what I've seen with the other brands that share the a similar history."
