Harlem designer Dapper Dan and Gap have reunited for a fresh batch of holiday-themed DAP hoodies. Making a splashy statement, the DAP hoodies are offered in four different plaid colorways. In an update from the original design, the hoodie includes a reference to Harlem, the neighborhood where Dap (real name Daniel Day) made his name as an influential tailor.
To celebrate the launch, Dap will be meeting fans and signing his hoodies at the Gap 125th Street store starting at 9:00 AM EST. Afterwards, Gap and Dap will kick off the Gap House Sessions series with nonprofit youth development and social justice organization, The Brotherhood Sister Sol, where Dap will lead a discussion with local Harlem youth, along with performances from the Peace Poets and other surprises. As part of the event, Gap donate $100,000 to the organization to further its arts, education and community focus.
Priced at $128, Gap’s DAP hoodies will launch at Gaps’s 125th Street store on November 29, followed by a global online launch at 12:00 PM EST on November 30th gap.com.
