Fresh off a collab with the NBA‘s Chicago Bulls unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, Paris-based Off-White has created a custom kit for boxer Ramla Ali in honor of her first title fight.
The British-Somalian, junior featherweight category boxer, who is also an activist, model, and brand ambassador for Cartier and Dior, won against Australia’s Avril Mathie on February 4, 2023, a match held at Madison Square Garden.
In press about the Off-white-designed kit she said, “I could not be more excited to finally be working with such an iconic brand as Off-White and the catalyst is the most monumental sports competition of my career. I have loved the brand since its inception and have always been in awe of Virgil Abloh‘s work, the legacy he left behind and the incredible vision Ibrahim Kamara has continued to realize through his work.”
While the LVMH-owned Off-White hasn’t appointed a creative director since founder Virgil Abloh died in November 2021, Kamara was appointed the label’s art and image director.
Enjoy a closer look at the kit below featuring a satin boxer’s robe embroidered with Off-White’s signature iconography along with a panther motif reflecting Ali’s Somali identity, plus blue satin shorts and a pair of Everlast boxing gloves.
