For such a momentous occassion, it makes sense Willaims would celebrate in Tokyo, a city that’s been a foundationally part of Williams’ history. He first visited the city in 2001 with a goal of meeting Nigo, who he had heard about through Jacob the Jeweler. Since then, the two have been fast friends and have worked together on multiple projects incuding co-launching Billionaire Boys Club.
In a post wishing Williams a happy birthday, Nigo wrote, “Pharrell has sometimes said, ‘Nigo changed my life”. but in truth, it’s Pharrell that changed my life. Thank you for always caring for me from the moment we met 21 years ago.
With Nigo as Creative Director of Kenzo and Williams at the helm of Louis Vuitton’s men’s business, the two fashion leaders will be joining forces under the same conglomerate for the first time.
