Colorado-based designer Nicole Mclaughlin has linked with Merrell‘s 1TRL division on a shoe rooted in her appreciation for upcycling and outdoor-themed designs. Working off of Merrell’s Moc Speed Streak, McLaughlin’s version of the shoe is dubbed the Moc-Laughlin and is made with recycled premium suede and a 100% recycled mesh upper with protective rubber toe cap and recycled mesh lining. The silhouette is offered in one of three colors: black and amber, birch and hi vis or coyote and olive.
The effort strikes a personal note for McLaughlin, whose father has always been a big fan of Merrell’s iconic Jungle Moc.
Merrell and McLaughlin’s Speed Streak EVO 1TRL will launch on Dover Street Market Longon, Los Angeles, Ginza, Beijing and Singapore on November 24, 2023. A secon launch will follow on merrell.com/1trl on December 1, 2023.
