Jamaica-born sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has stepped into the role of brand ambassador for the luxury Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille. In the brand’s latest campaign, the eight-time Olympic gold medalist wears the RM 07-04 Automatic Sport, the label’s first sport watch designed exclusively for women, introduced earlier this year.
In press, the 36-year old Pryce, who is also a Nike endorsed athlete, expressed the source of her motivation as an athlete, stating, “We athletes don’t get to where we are by ourselves. There are so many people whose shoulders I have stood on, who have believed in me along the way. It’s not the I but the we. You feel a whole nation pulling you over the line.”
Over a three-year span developing the RM 07-04, Richard Mille has collaborated with six influential women athletes with each one enjoying a personalized color varient of the highly technical watch. Athletes included in the effort are motorsport racing driver Aurora Straus, race driver Margot Laffite, professional golfer Nelly Korda, Olympic gold track athlete Nafi Thiam, high jumper Yuliya Levchenko and snowboarder and skiir Ester Ledecká.
Priced at $185,000, the RM 07-04 Automatic Sport is sold by appointment at Richard Mille stores.
