Beyoncé‘s Black Is King film has been trending all day on social media where fans have been mesmerized by the Disney Plus movie’s vibrant, African-themed visuals.
Costume designer Zerina Akers put an explanation point on the production and underscored the movies African themes by working mainly with black and minority designers.
Among her multiple costumes, Beyoncé (real name Beyoncé Knowles Carter) wore a statement-making white satin set of Duckie Confetti pajamas adorned with a giant $100 bill graphic. In addition creating a look for the film, New York-based Duckie was tapped to create a set of pajamas as part of a movie-related merch drop.
Priced at $160, the set is now available in sizes S-2X in very limited quantities on shop.beyonce.com. Duckie also sells a “Benjamin” robe, bodysuit and velvet leggings on confetti-boutique.com.
