Creative director Lev Tanju has begun the official roll out of Fila Plus, an elevated version of the sport brand, which was revealed in Paris in July. The launch of Fila Plus was announced with a moody campaign photographed by Ryan McGinley, featuring sleek sportswear basics like track pants, jackets, and t-shirts in pastel pistachio and pink.
A founder of London-based skateboard brand Palace, Tanju was brought on by Fila to lead Fila Plus in January 2024. The role was announced two years ago, following a collaboration with designer Haider Ackermann, who was offered the role but declined.
At the same time, the Seoul-based Fila has revealed a campaign for the mainline. Referencing the brand’s Italian heritage, the effort is titled “Bellissimo” and highlights young people striving for success while still enjoying life’s pleasures. The campaign visual kicks off with a pizza delivery driver zipping through a lively country club. Models engage in tennis, golf and poolside relaxation, all while wearing Fila’s latest collection.
Priced from $64-$140 for footwear and apparel, the collection will debut at the U.S. Open next month, where top-ranked, New York-born tennis player Emma Navarro and other athletes will wear the collection during the tournament. Additionally, a pop-up store in SoHo will showcase the collection from August through October.
