Musician and fashion plate Lady Gaga claimed quite the flex today, the reveal of a bag identified as the first Céline bag designed by Hedi Slimane, who joined the label in March 2018.
Gaga was shot in Paris where she’s been spending the week taking in the sights, including a private tour of the Louvre. Gaga paired her Céline bag with a House of CB Justina bandage dress, Jimmy Choo Romy 100 pumps and Ray Ban classic aviator shades.
The bag’s identity was confirmed by Tome Erebout, Lady Gaga’s stylist since 2016. “He gifted her the bag and it’s the first one from his new collection,” Eerebout told Business of Fashion. “Lady Gaga always supported Hedi at Saint Laurent. They’re really close friends and they have been since he photographed her for The Fame Monster album cover.”
Slimane was announced as Céline’s head creative in February 2018. He fills the very big shoes of Phoebe Philo, whose pre-fall 2018 collection represented her final effort with the label.
