Cardi B checked in with CBS’s “Sunday Morning” where she revealed a more thoughtful side of her personality. Nominated for five Grammy awards, the 26-year old spoke about her come up in New York and added a fresh spin on the story with visits to the grocery store and strip club (under the alias Camilla!) she worked in before becoming a breakout star.
Naturally she was asked about her fight with Nicki Minaj in September 2018 at a New York Fashion Week event. When asked whether she was embarrassed by the incident, without hesitation she stated, “It’s unnecessary, but am I ever embarrassed by anything I do? No.”
On whether it was good for business, she added, “I think it’s bad for business. You know a lot of people like to say, ‘all publicity is good publicity.’ To me it’s not. That takes away people paying attention to your craft. It makes people not even care about your craft. They just want to see the drama.”
In the video, Cardi paid a surprise visit to her old high school where she thanked her favorite teacher, Miss Hill and teared up when they hugged.
Cardi finished on a determined note by dismissing those predicting her 15 minutes are almost up. “I get up every single time, honey. Even before this fame stuff, I always get up,” she stated.
