HighSnobiety received $8.5M in finding from private equity firm Felix Capital in 2018, a move portending an eventual sale.

According to WWD, the company reportedly brought in $60M in revenue this year. In comparison, #Hypebeast, which is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange, banked $88.68M for the year ending March '21.

In the same space, #Complex was bought by Verizon and Hearst in a 50-50 ownership structure in 2016. At the time, Complex was valued at between $250M-$300M according to reporting by WSJ.

Curated by For Keeps bookstore owner Rosa Duffy, the platform features rare and out-of-print books, catalogs and essays authored by Ntozake Shange, Adrian Piper, Cedric Dover, Lucille Clifton, Susan Krane, Benny Andrews, Ruth G. Waddy, Auther Huff Faucet, Rosa Bogar and many more.

Covers and a few pages from the current selection of publication are available to read online from October 18-29, 2021. Publiations may also be borrowed for free (credit card deposit required) for a period of 45 days.
