Vauthier talked to Vogue backstage and talked about his research on the type of fashion that emerges after a crisis and says, "What I found was that there’s always a resurgence of energy, with different cultural cross-currents, an evolution in musical tastes, and a desire for even more extreme kinds of diversion."

"Fashion is above all sociological, beyond the individual expressions of a designer. It’s a re-transcription of a social and geographical context through the designer’s eyes. It’s the synthesis, how you filter what you see and hear, that makes fashion interesting.”

#Sotheby’s auction of #LouisVuitton and #Nike’s Air Force 1 designed by #VirgilAbloh is now live.

The shoe is one of 47 AF1s Abloh designed as part of the label’s spring ‘22 collection and is distinguished by an orange case. 200 pairs of the shoe are being auctioned.

The highest bid thus far is a size 10 shoe with a bid of $35k. The auction ends Feb. 8th.

Hopefully bids rack up even higher because proceeds will benefit Abloh’s Post-Modern Scholarship Fund, an organization he founded in 2020.

Abloh was involved in the planning of the auction before he passed on Nov. 28th.
