Gathered here areall our favorite looks from Paris Fashion Weeks’ fall 2017 presentations. One of the biggest statements to emerge from collections was creating new stories through mixing of texture (especially for labels that showed outerwear) and introducing playful color stories through color blocking or prints. Silhouettes were long and lean and yet still relaxed with plenty of maxi skirt featuring pantie high slits.
Ironically, given that the world appears to be melting, outerwear was where some of the strongest style statements were made, especially by Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, and oh-my-gosh Sacai!
Best overall presentations from which we couldn’t pick just one item? Loewe, Balenciaga, Y-Project and the master of mixing art and commerce, Undercover.
One single complaint for the collections overall, it was bit of a dismay to see so many designers not known for eveningwear pushing dresses and skirts so hard, if only because the women we know only really wear pants. It’s probably Alessandro Michele‘s fault. He made femininity look so fun and fresh, designers couldn’t help but be inspired.
