Remy Ma And Nicki Minaj Will Probably Go At Each Other For All Of Eternity

While the idea of Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj kissing and making a rap song together is a nice fantasy, the likelihood of it ever happening at this point is probably is very small. First off, there’s the reality of precedence. Minaj simply doesn’t have a history of collaborating with female rappers, choosing instead to position herself as the one-and-only female capable of hanging with the guys.

One has to guess that after Remy was released from prison, she gave Minaj an ample amount of time to make good on vague promises they would work together and at some point when she saw that actually wasn’t going to come to fruition, Ma chose to drop “ShETHER,” concluding she had nothing to lose and much to gain from doing so.

And now that “ShETHER” has been dropped, and let’s face it Minaj’s status as the undisputed rap queen has taken some major hits, it won’t help Minaj to make nice with Remy.

If anything, it makes more sense for her to collaborate with another rising, hot female rappers (Cardi B would be perfect), a move that would undermine some of the criticism that Minaj doesn’t rally around women, a maneuver that at the same time would bring in someone to do the dirty work Minaj feels is beneath her given her sales and accolades.

In the meantime, the two will continue to volley shots at each other, with Remy taking the most recent jab through an appearance on VH1’s “Hip Hop Squares,” on which she made fun of Minaj’s over-dependence on rapping about her ass.

In a question related to lyrics in Minaj’s single “Anaconda, Remy stated, “You know what, I’m kind thinking she would’ve said something about her butt ’cause that’s always like the every other two bars.” She then snidely added, “I’m actually a big Nicki Minaj fan and I know all her lyrics….”

Prior to Remy’s appearance on the show, Minaj let it be known she’s releasing a video for “No Frauds,” her response to “Shether.” Check out the Hip Hop Squares and “No Frauds” clip below.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."
