When Raf Simons was announced as head designer for Calvin Klein in January 2017, the label’s first effort under his direction was to create Calvin Klein by Appointment, an exclusive made-to-measure division providing luxury-priced garments.
At the Met Gala on Monday (May 1, 2017), the label used the red carpet as a coming out party for the By Appointment label, dressing celebrity brand ambassadors in many of the garments that were first revealed in January.
Along with Raf Simons, attendees included artist Cindy Sherman, rapper A$AP Rocky, actors Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Ash Sanders, Bill Skarsgård, plus model Paris Jackson, Moonlight writer Bandry Barry, among others.
