Balenciaga and the label’s head designer Demna Gvasalias stay trolling the internet, revealing another bag inspired by a low-cost original. Following the release last month of its $2,145 Ikea-inspired Frakta bag, which kicked off hundreds of holler backs, the French label has revealed a $1,100 version of its humble, white paper shopping bag.
Upgraded with white calfskin and Nappa leather handles, the shopping bag tote is otherwise a duplicate of the bag provided to customers in store.
First shown on Balenciaga’s fall menswear runway, it was first shown at retail as part of the label’s takeover of Parisian store Colette. It’s now sold out, but should see a restock at additional stores in coming weeks.
