Creative Michèle Lamy has been tapped by famed London department store Selfridges to create a boxing-themed “Lamyland” pop-up shop, a concept created in collaboration with Overthrow Boxing in NYC.
The collaboration isn’t happenstance, indeed Lamy is a big fan of the sport. “Boxing is a state of mind. It’s a place where you just think about what you are doing, in the moment. Fascinating, like playing chess,” Lamy said in a press release.
The pop-up will also house collaborative efforts with Gareth Pugh, Koche, Cloth Surgeon, Stephen Jones, Versace, Sacai and of course, Lamy’s dear husband, Rick Owens.
As part of the effort Selfridges is also opening a BXR London-managed boxing gym on the lower ground floor level of the store from February 1-28, 2018. During the month, customers can partake in a 45-minute group boxing class, or a private personal boxing session with one an on-site coache.
The concept shop will be open from February 1st through March 25th. In the meantime there are now some Lamyland merch t-shirts available at selfridges.com.
