Biker Short Outfits For All Of Your Many Moods And Personalities

August 21, 2018. Leave a Comment

Biker shorts have been peculating as a trend for several seasons, inspired in part by the nude body-conscious looks Kanye West has shown throughout various Yeezy presentations. Designers took the ball and ran with the trend with spring 2018 collections, most notably Off-White designer Virgil Abloh‘s Princess Diana-inspired presentation, which was closed out by Naomi Campbell wearing a white pair.

This summer in particular, biker shorts have been worn by the Kardashians, Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and every single Instagram influencer with over 10,000 followers.

While the average Instagram model may place an emphasis on flaunting curves, the sleek and minimalist styling of cycling shorts provides a ton of ‘fit options.  Whether neon, black or pinstripe, the silhouette is versatile enough to be dressed up or down, providing a fresh update on ‘90s nostalgia.

Check out four ways to put together biker shorts below.

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.

Make-up by Raisa Flowers, nails by Dawn Sterling, and photography by Luis Alberto Rodriguez.

After The Cut published a story titled "Our Condolences To The Birkin" the internet got into their feelings.

The last video is by stylist Ebony Brown ( TiKTok fashionablyfearless) who does not support owning a Birkin.
