Get Acquainted With The Adorable Dogs Of Female Rappers

One of the cutest trends this year is the rise female rappers who own adorable little dogs. Besides the fun factor, practicality speaking the music business–especially for women–is completely cut throat so at least now, each of them can say they have a single soul they can trust.

Just like their owners, each dog has it own personality and story. There are even doggy friendships but thankfully thus far no dog beef. Check out all the female rap doggies on our radar below.

Cuban Doll and Louis da Savage, Teacup Pomeranian: Without question Louis currently is the rap world’s hottest dog. Louis is famed for appearing in Tekashi69’s popular “FEFE” song, but even before the video, Tekashi’s friendship with Cuban (which has its own complex backstory), has meant that Louis has seen prominent placement in various behind-the-scenes videos, including one in which Tekashi was ratcheting up his beef with Chief Keef. Cuban also got into an Instagram tug-of-war with an individual who started a Louis fan page but when push came to shove wouldn’t give control to Cuban, who subsequently launched her own page for Louis. And no, Louis wasn’t born with his distinct Cheeto orange coloring. His original color is white, though clearly the orange really suits him!

Missy Elliott and Miss Fendi Dior, Teacup Yorkshire: After Missy’s beloved dog, Poncho, passed last year, she was ready in March to bring a new “fur baby” into her life. Miss Fendi is without doubt the most swagged out of the bunch and has a designer wardrobe any human would envy. Among the entire pack, Miss Fendi is the liveliest and is always up to something adorably naughty.

Miss Mulatto and Coca, Bijon Frise: Coca is the group’s most social dog. She’s often spotted chilling with her bestie, Bentley, who is owned by stylist Quinton Shotwell and hair stylist, Fran Maymi. As well, Miss Mulatto and Cuban have talked about a possible playdate for their two pups. Coca’s distinct blue paws are handled by Atlanta-based groomer Kahm the Groomer.

Rico Nasty and Fish, Teacup Yorkshire: Fish is the newest puppy on the scene and is very much the Ying to Rico’s Yang. Low key and laid back, Fish provides the perfect balance to Rico’s high octane personality. That said, Fish is still a baby so his cute little personality is only starting to emerge.

Check out images of the doggies below and yes, all but Miss Fendi Dior have their own Instagram accounts.

Scathing 5,400-word report via The Cut's Tahirah H Scathing 5,400-word report via The Cut's Tahirah Hairston on Kerby Jean-Raymond whose label Pyer Moss appears to no longer be operational.

Check out an excerpt below.

Ten years in, Jean-Raymond’s star has only risen. He hangs out with celebrities (Tracee Ellis Ross, Brent Faiyaz), made a cameo on Insecure, and drives flashy cars (a McLaren 720S, an Aston Martin Superleggera, a Porsche GT3 RS). Meanwhile, his brand is nearly nonexistent.

There is no Pyer Moss boutique. The clothing celebrated on the runway was mostly not available to anybody who didn’t have a celebrity stylist to pull it for them, and company insiders complained that quality control was so uneven that at times what was produced was too flawed to be sold. Jean-Raymond sometimes missed deadlines, didn’t always pay bills, started other projects, and alienated allies. He referred to Pyer Moss as an “art project” and seemed reluctant to make practical choices. Among the fashion insiders who had cheered his rise, there has been a growing feeling that he has wasted an opportunity to build something important.

The last straw for many of his early supporters was his couture show in July 2021. Titled “WAT U IZ,” and put on in the U.S. during Paris Couture Week, it was a tribute to the various innovations that Black people have been responsible for, often without credit. The models came down the runway decked out in a jar of peanut butter and a traffic light. A lot of it wasn’t really clothing, much less couture. Even if the professional critics and other members of the fashion press seemed hesitant to publicly express their disappointment, they whispered among each other that he’d lost the plot of his brand.
