London-based designer Paolina Russo turned heads on January 18, 2019 with a colorful knitwear presentation shown during Paris Fashion Week as part of Adidas‘ MakerLab Presents, a creative platform for fostering talent, produced in collaboration with David Beckham and the British Fashion Council.
As part of the presentation, Russo customized Adidas’s new SC Premier silhouette, a classic all-white lace-up sneaker. For her version of the shoe, Russo converted the shoe into a knee-high, lace-up boot.
Central Saint-Martins alum Russo is known for her work with knitwear combining a unique DIY aesthetic with an avant-garde twist that’s both edgy and sporty. Russo’s signature silhouette is a sneaker-inspired bustier, an items that’s been spotted on fashion heavy hitters including Solange, Gigi Hadid and Sita Abellan.
Russo’s spring 2019 offerings are now available at selfridges.com.
