Stay Sweet Crew Keeps It Real With Debut Drop

March 18, 2019. Leave a Comment

The brainchild of model/artist Charlie Ward and Erinn Ruth, Stay Sweet Crew label is all about shining a philosophical light on life’s harsh realities. It’s an equal parts DIY and tongue-in-cheek theme reflected by the label’s bio, which reads, “We are about diving into your existential crisis and not plastering over it with positive aphorisms.”

The debut drop consists on a signed and numbered zine and coordinated t-shirt featuring the “Stay Sweet” logo on the back and “I think things are gonna be better soon” on the front.

Combing melancholy with an appealing DIY aesthetic, Stay Sweet Crew is for sure on our radar as a collective to watch.

Priced at $25, the zine and t-shirt are now available in limited quantities at staysweetmag.com.

Part of his debut collection with the retailer, the men's "giant fit" chino priced at 89.50 is 100% sold out! Relecting the popularity of the silhouette, the women's wide-leg pleated cargo is also sold out.

With wider fits and chino swinging back into popularity, we can't help but wonder what sneakers and shoes will be coming along for the ride. Any nominations?

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.
