Married couple Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West provided Architectural Digest with a closer look around their Calabasas, Los Angeles house, a space famous for its minimalist-to-the extreme design ethos.
Designed by West in collaboration with Belgian designer Axel Vervoodt, the house’s endless sink and walk-in refrigerator are just a few of the items that have had viral moments not unlike their owners on social media.
Commenting on landing Vervoodt as a designer, West said, “When I saw the kind of work he was doing, I thought, This man could design Batman’s house. I had to work with him. It was a coup to get Axel to come to Calabasas to redo a McMansion, which is essentially what the house was.”
While West handled the bigger design issues, Kardashian noted, “Kanye would come up with the most far-out ideas, and I’d say, ‘This is not normal. We need drawers!’ I was the voice of functionality.”
The latest look inside their home includes a charming exchange with Kardashian and West, who discuss various aspects of living in the home while seated in white swivel chairs.
Much to West’s surprise, Kardashian revealed she’s never been in their heated pool, adding it was designed to be like a giant Jacuzzi. She also called out the bathroom as providing the bet light for selfies with light so perfect it makes her believe she doesn’t have any cellulite.
