In an unexpected pairing, shoe designer Amina Muaddi has linked with A$AP Rocky‘s AWGE creative platform to create four high-heel silhouettes befitting the off-the-chart levels of sex appeal both creatives are known for generating.

While Muaddi has collaborated with Rihanna‘s Fenty label, the effort with Rocky (real name Rakim Myers) marks Muaddi’s first collaboration with her label. In an exchange with Vogue, she explained why he made sense. She explained, “For me, it was important that the first collaboration I do is one that is special and close to my heart. I wanted to do it with someone who shares my values and my perspective on creativity and design. Rocky doesn’t compromise himself in his work or whatever he does; he’s a perfectionist the same way I am.”

Made in Italy, the silhouettes are comprised of the Phoenix, a PVC slingback with with Muaddi’s signature fluted Plexi heel adorned with a crystal butterfly-shaped bow, described as inspired by A$AP Yams‘ distinct birthmark; the Flacko 95, a patent leather sandal offered in black or white featuring a silver chain ankle strap adorned with an AWGE charm.

There are two lace-up LSD gladiator sandals detailed with crystal-adorned satin straps extending to either the calf or the thigh. The pièce de résistance of the collection is the thigh-high gladiator described by Muaddi as “very sexy and fierce.”

Commenting on the homage to Yams, Rocky explained, “Since his passing, we always put it in our work, hearing it secretly, in visuals, or in clothing collaborations. I think it’s dope because it kind of goes with a lot of the other stuff that I have made previously with butterflies. People could kind of style those things together.”

The campaign for the effort stars actress Tina Tunakey, who was styled by Georgia Pendlebury and photographed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti

Priced from $1,370-$1,860, the four silhouettes launch on December 10, 2020 on Browns, Just One Eye, Hirshleifers, Net-a-Porter, On Pedder, among others.
