Melody Ehsani Teams Up With Miss Lawn Of HLZBLZ For ‘Sisterhood’ Collection

Los Angeles-based Melody Ehsani has unveiled her first fall 2021 drop, modeled by close friend and director Melina Matsoukas. Combining butterfly prints and quilted fabrics, the collection was designed in collaboration with designer Lanie Alabanza-Barcena aka Miss Lawn of HLZBLZ.

Commenting on the effort, Albanza-Barcena wrote on Instagram, “Streetwear has always been somewhat male dominated BUT for years there’s been a true sisterhood amongst myself and the ladies who many consider as pioneers in this industry/culture. One of those who’ve I’ve considered not only as a friend, inspiration and sister is my girl, Melody Ehsani. It’s truly been an honor to not only tap into her mind and design a collection with her BUT to also create some collaborative pieces, as well. Thank you Melody! xoxo.”

Matsoukas has garnered an impressive resume over the years having directed Queen & Slim as well as multiple episodes of “Insecure,” as well as game-changing videos for Rihanna and Beyoncé.

While Matsoukas’ resume is impressive, Ehsani in press stated it’s deeper than that. “We highlight Melina not because of her impressive resume, but because of her heart and vision. Dedicated to being a mentor and always paying it forward while going against the old world systems to create a new path for those that are to come is no easy feat,”

Priced from $52-$178, Ehsani and Alabanza-Barcena’s “Sisterhood” capsule launches November 12th, 2021 on melodyehsani.com.

Reflecting founder Emily Oberg‘s affinity for a clean approach, products are described as vegan and formulated with “96% natural origin ingredients.” Packaging is sustainable with containers making use of a 50% recyclable bottle cap and an FSC certified package mde from 100%-recycled paper.
