Crocs and music creative SZA (real name Solána Rowe) have revealed a collaborative Classic clog and slide featuring a faux wood finish, news that was first revealed by Kim Kardashian on Instagram Stories. As with all collabs, the effort includes a collection of custom Jibbitz. Reflecting her love of the outdoors, SZA’s include the symbol for recycling, a brain detailed with the phrase “mental health matters,” a water gun, weed leaf, planet Earth, fish, flower, evil eye, inhaler and mushroom. There’s also a beaded friendship bracelet draped along the top of the shoe that reads SZA.
As part of the effort, Crocs has partnered with three people who advocate for Black mental health and positive change in their own community and across the world by donating to three organizations of their choosing. The individuals selected by SZA are Sage Adams, Yaris Sanchez, and Donté Colley.
SZA first hinted at the collab in July 2021 when she took to Twitter and asked her fans, “If I made some custom crocs would u buy em?”
Splashy collaborations have played a key role in Crocs’ marketing strategy, starting with a Post Malone Classic clog and Jibbetz released in December 2020. Since then, the brand has partnered with Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Balenciaga, Salehe Bembury and more recently Jeff Staple.
Crocs and SZA’s shoe will be available through through a draw on crocs.com from May 2, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST through May 6, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST. Those who have entered the draw will notified if they’ve been selected. Quantities are limited to one pair per customer.
