Snobette Sounds: Best New Music By Women May 2022

June 9, 2022. Leave a Comment

May was highlighted by the Billboard Music Awards, an event hosted by Sean Combs in Las Vegas. The evening’s awards were dominated by Olivia Rodrigo won seven awards, including top new artist. Outside of Rodrigo, women who took home trophies includes Doja Cat who was awarded top r&b artist and top r&b female, while Megan thee Stallion won top rap female artist.

As for my picks for Snobette Sounds this month, while there weren’t any mega-watt release, May’s list is a great mix combining establishes talents with loyal followings combined with some names who are very much fresh on the scene and still building their fan bases.

May’s list features music by or featuring Ella Mai, Erica Banks, DaniLeigh, Ravyn Lenae, Kamaiyah, Jalisa Rey, M.I.A., Gwen Bunn, Elle Eliades, 070 Shake, Christine and the Queens, Flo, Miraa May, Baby Rose, Mahalia, Chalynn, Mychelle, Muni Long, Nakkia Gold, Teenear, KALLITECHNIS, Sabrina Claudio, Yuna, Ahna Mac and Alaina Castillo.

Submit music to me, Europe Angelique, on Twitter and find the monthly-updated Snobette Sounds Spotify playlist here.
