Following the opening of the Yeezy Gap engineered by Balenciaga Times Square pop up this past Wednesday (July 20, 2022), the San Francisco-based chain announced it will stock the collection at 45 U.S. locations, starting July 23rd.
According to a press release, “Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga bring their shared vision of physical retail to select Gap locations across the United States. Designed for the future the store design represents a reinvention of physical retail rendered with minimal waste in either display or design. A selection of the Yeezy Gap engineered by Balenciaga collection will be available to shop physically starting tomorrow.”
Yeezy’s take over of Gap’s Time Square flagship included not just a change in merchandise but also an interior makeover that included black walls along with a projection of the Yeezy Gap Balenciaga video game, which was released the same day. Giving thrift store vibes, the store merchandise was pile in bins and consisted of hoodies, t-shirts, and long-sleeve t-shirts. No bottoms or accessories were available.
In addition to Times Square, the brand sold product out of a van in Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago on July 23rd.
The Times Square pop up will remain open through July 31st. Starting July 23rd, the collection will be sold at 45 store whose locations can be found here. Pieces from the collection are available on yeezygap.com.
