More bad news for Balenciaga. It appears “Euphoria” actress Alexa Demie has bailed on the brand and now Adidas is also exiting stage left. The German brand has placed a pause on all products made in collaboration with Balenciaga, according to reporting by Sneaker Freaker.
In an email sent to a customer ordering a collaborative shoe, Adidas wrote, “We have taken the time to re-evaluate our partnership with Balenciaga and we have decided to pause all product launches until further notice. Unfortunately, therefore, we will be unable to fulfil your pre-order of the Balenciaga/adidas Stan Smith.”
Balenciaga first revealed the partnership on its spring 2023 runway. The collection included apparel, shoes and accessories, ranging in price from $595 for a balaclava up tot $5,500 for a leather jacket. Balenciaga supported the effort with a campaign starring Bella Hadid and others. Pre-orders for the collection went live in early November on at adidas.com/balenciaga, balenciaga.com/adidas, and at select retailers and Adidas and Balenciaga stores.
While the pre-order link on Adidas’ site has been taken down, the link is still live on Balenciaga’s ecommerce site.
