New York rappars Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj have joined forces on “Princess Diana” a remix of Ice’s “Like…” single. The song was released alongside a pink-themed visual featuring both artists.
While Ice (real name Isis Gaston) consistently has expressed appreciation for Minaj (real name Onika Maraj-Ptty), the Queens rapper recently returned the favor on Twitter where she provided the up-and-coming, Bronx-born 23-year-old with a cosign, declaring her “The People’s Princess.”
Following the release of the single, there was some chatter that Ice had signed with Minaj’s newly-launched label, Heavy On It, a subsidiary of Republic Records. Confusion arose because Ice and Minaj are co-credited for the song, which was released by Heavy On It alongside Ice’s label, 10K Projects, which is a part of Capitol Records. Perhaps not so coincidentally, both Ice and Minaj’s labels are a part of UMG’s stable of companies.
At the moment, Ice remains signed with 10K Projects, a label she signed with in October 2022 as part of a $2 million deal.
