Congrats go out to New York-based Chromat designer Becca McCharen-Tran, who was chosen by CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and M.A.C. Cosmetics among a group of six fashion designer candidates to produce a six-item beauty collection. The first-time collaboration was rooted in an effort to extend the reach of CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nominees, creating a bridge between fashion and beauty.
In addition to having her concept produced, Becca McCharen-Tran also will take home a $50,000 prize.
McCharen-Tran said she was thrilled to be tapped and credited her longtime appreciation of makeup’s power to transform as guiding her electric blue collection. “I was so excited! I love makeup. I’m fearless with makeup. I love the feeling of spending hours getting ready, trying different ideas, taking bathroom selfies, and then going out and showing my new look to the world, said McCharen-Tran, who added, “Looking back at the past six seasons of Chromat runway shows, a strong eye has been something we have never wavered from. And to work with the leaders in makeup as art to bring this vision to life is a dream come true!”
The M.A.C.’s collaborative collection with Chromat will be available at maccosmetics.com on June 29, 2017 in North America and July 1st worldwide.
