One interesting detail, the items are packaged in paper bags rather than problematic plastic.

Nike and Kobe Bryant's estate have chosen not to go forward with their contract. Nike has issued a statement reading as follows: "Kobe Bryant was an important part of Nike’s deep connection to consumers. He pushed us and made everyone around him better. Though our contractual relationship has ended, he remains a deeply loved member of the Nike family."

Vanessa Bryant, who was said to be unhappy with how Nike handled releases after he passed in January of last year (see ESPN note on slide), also weighed in on Ig stories: "Kobe Bryant was an important part of Nike's deep connection to consumers. He pushed us and made everyone around him better. Though our contractual relationship has ended, he remains a deeply loved member of the Nike family."

Allegedly, Bryant was considering moving on from Nike before his death. According to friend and investor Shervin Pishevar, Bryant wasn’t happy with his Nike deal and discussed launching an independent sneaker company called Mamba.
